The only problem with this story (for me) is I have no clue as to the meanings of tarot cards. So, the reading John did for Rodney had no meaning for me. Explanation?
But the story itself was fun. Prank War! Rodney resisting John's charms. Rodney's allergy to stupid idiots. ;)
Thank you! I'm really glad you enjoyed it. And I can't believe I missed the close italics - it didn't show up when I put it on AO3, so I didn't see. Thanks for pointing it out.
Oh, sweet! I don't know how I missed this first time around, but I'm glad you reposted it. I love Lorne the tarot reader (and John drawing Happiness, so sweet) and that John actually reacts to how abrasive Rodney is at the beginning.
Ah, you didn't miss it - it's a story that I scrapped for the match (number six of about three billion!), but it's stuck with me more than most, so I finished it up to post as a treat.
that was so awesome! and wow, now that I think of it, Lorne would be such a great Tarot reader! the prank war was hilarious and this was highly entertaining. sweet!
All the details, and the characters (chef! Tarot card reader!) and the snark, and the prank war, and the thorough and proper running of a kitchen...This was so much fun to read, I was actually quite cross that you stopped/reached the end.
Is there every going to be more in this 'verse? Especially with Lorne? Because I would not be above begging for more :)
Hee, thank you, love. There might be a prequel - there's a lot to this story that I know but couldn't work into the story itself. Like Lorne did a reading for John that indicated Rodney was coming. Or that Teyla's not really a vegetarian, Rodney just thinks so. Or the whole backstory where John's not talking to his father or brother, and they just bid on everything John bids on to be a royal pain in the ass...

I think I might write a little pre-scene where Lorne reads cards for John. I think that might be fun.
I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway!
I loved the foodiness, and the prank war, and the resolution. The breakfast in bed was perfect John. I also liked 'John's' tarot reading.
(I think you missed an end-italic code after the word 'liar', though, as the rest of the fic is in italics. I do that myself all the time.)
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
"You thought I was going to cook for you?" Rodney asks, glancing at the reasonably good bottle of Claret. "What have you done to earn that?"
Very enjoyable, thank you!
Adorable fic. And Rodney in a kitchen is always hot.
Nicely done!
